Notes from a continuing education class I took yesterday:

2007-2009 there were 300,000 jobs lost in Arizona. In 2015 AZ was 10th in the nation for job growth.

2009 was the worst for foreclosure starts with 86,000. In 2015 there were 7800 or the same as in 2002.

Single family homes make up 82% of all the real estate transactions in AZ.

Cheap homes! In 2007 there were 6 sales below $50K. In 2009 there were 7734. 150 last year.

Median sales price peaked in June of 2006 at $287,500 in Phoenix. The bottom was Agust of 2011 at $120,000. In 2015 that number was $237,000.

Arizona population is 6,820,000. Maricopa county is 4,000,000 and added 74,000 last year which was 2nd in the nation behind Harris county Texas with 88,000.

Fletcher Wilcox with Grand Canyon Title put together these numbers and predicts we will add 88,000 more people and 66,000 new jobs this year.
