Short Sale?
Now that school has started there are now small price reductions on lease listings in Desert Ridge. Three homes currently for lease in Aviano; $2750 to $3600.
Friends called yesterday exploring options as they are $150K upside down and are considering short selling their home. Well, welcome to the club. Being simply upside down is no reason to throw in the towel. Besides, where will you go? Short sale and force yourself to lease for the next 3 years all to save $1000 a month? If you owned a share of stock that you had planned to keep for 10 years and the value of that share of stock nosedived after 2 years would you sell? If you closed in 2007 with a 5year arm then you do have cause for concern. Keep making your payments, talk to tax and real estate attorneys before doing something dumb. We may consider selling when Jason goes to college. He will be 6 in November. I am reminded of the value of my home everyday but I honestly could care less with that much time to go. We moved here to enjoy the abundant amenities of Aviano and the great schools. For the foreseeable future folks will need to look at their homes as simply a great place to live, not their meal ticket to retirement.
I noticed that a couple of yard signs were defaced on Hummingbird Lane. One of them was mine and I feel so sad for whoever did it. To be lucky enough to wake up in good health for another day of life and choose to use your precious time for that? Spelling was incorrect so obviously not a Paradise Valley Unified School District educated individual.
12 homes for sale in Aviano as of this morning. We know 4 of those are not really for sale and a few more are price challenged so slim pickins out there.

The lender owned Serrantina at 21922 North 36th Street is now pending so just a short ride to close of escrow land for that one. Last priced at $385K, mls says it has received multiple offers.
